Fans of savory richness will delight in the BBQ Pork Steam Rice Roll, while those seeking a little heat can opt for the Curry Fish Ball Steam Rice Roll, packed with bold spices that add a satisfying kick.
The rice rolls here stand out for their freshness — made to order and served with an array of complementary sauces, including a fantastic chili oil that brightens each bite with a punch of flavor. Though seating is limited and the ambiance modest—typical of a fast-paced Hong Kong-style eatery—the convenience of Joe's location in the New World Mall food court enhances the experience, making it easy for diners to grab a fresh, piping hot meal quickly. The warm, bustling vibe paired with the tantalizing aromas of steam and spice is inviting, making Joe’s feel like a hidden gem in a sea of food options.

Great snack! Got the steamed rice roll with pork, egg, chives, bean sprouts and corn. The rice rolls had a satisfying texture, but don’t expect a lot of pork or veggie filling. They rolls definitely benefit from the sauce as well, as they are otherwise a bit flavorless and bland in taste.
I love Joe’s and always stop by when I’m in Flushing. The rice rolls are so tender and fresh, and unlike any premade ones you will find. They also have a really yummy chili-oil… always add sauce! Perfect for a solo diner as there is minimal seating. But if you’re in a group you can take things to go and grab a table at any neighboring food court. The shrimp rice roll is my fave.
Conveniently in the New World Mall food court now. Delicious and fresh syeamed rice rolls. Made to order and so fast!
Joe’s Steamed Rice Rolls now has a new location inside the food court at New World Mall in Flushing. The rolls are made fresh to order and come with several free topping options to customize your order. The rice rolls are slightly thicker than most, giving them a chewy texture that makes them really satisfying. The chili hot sauce is optional but adds a great kick of flavor that balances perfectly with the soft rice rolls. Overall, this spot is a solid choice for a quick, fresh, and authentic snack in the mall.
Came here right when it opened and there was no line and not crowded. Rice rolls themselves are soft and flavorful; would recommend with a bit of soy sauce. Limited seating at the counter and cash only. Reasonable prices.
Very popular and busy spot (even on weekdays) for rice rolls but definitely worth the hype and wait in my opinion. They offer several speciality rolls (the Joe's Special and Meat Lover ones are great), all of which cost around $10 and contain several fillings thus more flavor overall. I personally think their rice rolls are also very tasty on their own, almost nostalgic even. As mentioned, this place is busy so expect to wait in line to order, then wait 10-20 mins for your order to be ready, and possibly have order for takeout if there are no seats available. Last few notes: the cashier here speaks English well so no need to worry about ordering awkwardness. To-go orders are bagged and include both soy sauce and chili oil cups, but make sure to grab forks if needed (dine in orders are served on plates and you'll pour the sauces yourself). Lastly, I wouldn't recommend the $3 cold soy milk because it's very watered down, at least it was for me
When I walked into this place, I felt like I stepped into Asia. It reminded me so much of the older cramped food courts you can find in certain parts of Asia. The line was long for this place and they make the steamed rolls fresh. We ordered the shrimp rice roll in the large size (it doesn’t come in the small size) and added three types of vegetables that is included in the price ($8). If you want to add an egg, it’s $1 extra. The soy milk was $3, and they only have the sweetened version. They have some seating for eat-in guests. We bought it for takeout and it was piping hot and super fresh. Our aunt really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend visiting!
